Problems with Generic Plaquenil

Hi everyone,

I have been taking generic plaquenil for 14 years for sjogrens and cutaneous lupus . Recently i stopped the plaquenil because i was put on prednisone for covid and asthma and i wanted to prevent from getting a fib . When i restarted the hydrocychloroquine i started itching but no rash . Plaquenil has been so good to me and now this . Has this happened to anyone ? Am wondering if it could be the covid or maybe ive become allergic to hydroxychloroquine . I thought of maybe splitting the pill in 4's to see if slowly i get used to it again or start searching for a different generic , which i really dont want to do . Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated . This has me stressed out . Sorry this is so long .
